Well it’s five golf loving friends who were all raised in the 409 and still live here!
Hey everyone, my name is Matt Ellis and I am one of the founders of Fore09 Golf. Most of my free time is spent with my wonderful family, but my absolute favorite hobby is hitting the links. As a young kid, I’d occasionally go with my dad to play golf, but it never turned into a passion until later in life.
When I was 18, I started working at Games People Play in Beaumont and worked there all throughout college. During this time, I was able to meet a ton of people in the golf world, including college(now pro) golfers, equipment gurus, knowledgeable sales reps, golf instructors, and everyday customers who just loved playing golf. Fast forward 20 years, the game continued to allow me to make and strengthen relationships. This is where Fore09 Golf was born. My hope is that we can spread our love of the game with others from the 409.

Favorite golf memory: Being able to see my dad hit his 2nd ever hole in one.
Favorite pro golfer: Prime Tiger Woods but currently Jordan Spieth.
My name is Bryce Gregg and I was born and raised in Nederland, Tx where I still live today with my beautiful wife and our chocolate lab Jess. I started playing golf at a young age with my Dad and Uncles usually only at family functions to get away and spend some “guy time” together. I continued playing occasionally through my middle school years and early teens but my focus was primarily on football at this time. After my senior season I quickly found myself with a feeling of “now what”, this is when my passion for the game really started.
I began working in the medical field at the age of 18 and discovered the game of golf to be a great way to create bonds on and off the course with friends and coworkers. Although playing with friends and coworkers as often as possible, I always wanted more. I’ll never forget when Matt approached me one Sunday at church and said he had been talking with some buddies and wanted to get an annual golf trip together and he’d love for me to join, this is what I’d been yearning for. The Fore09 cup was born and through much thought and passion from us all, our brand Fore09 Golf came to fruition. I hope y’all love it as much as we do!!!
My name is Blake Balsamo. I was born, raised and currently reside in Port Neches, TX. I’m married to my wonderful hot wife, Amy. We are blessed to have 4 wonderful children. My love for golf started at a young age. I played as often as I could, but always had to stop during baseball season. I was always told “golf will mess up your baseball swing”. I think it was the other way around. I’m still trying to fix my golf swing to this day! I still remember the “shot” that got me hooked. I hit a drive on number 5 at the Pea Patch. Dead straight, and long, for me at least. One of those pure shots, that just felt good. After that, I was hooked. I always played with friends throughout high school and college. The spring time was always a favorite. It meant you could get off work, head straight to the course, and get in a quick 9.
I did not fully understand the impact the game of golf could have until I started working in sales. It showed me golf was more than just a game. It’s about building long lasting relationships and friendships. Regardless of who, or what we did off the course, we shared a common interest. The love of the game. Thats where FORE09 came in. Me and a few buddies wanted to expand our friendships on the course. Our answer, to create/host a friendly Ryder Cup style tournament once a year. Of course, we needed a unique name for this. After sharing our thoughts and a few beers, the Fore09 Cup was born. We decided to create our OG logo and make a few hats just for fun. Everyone loved the idea, and Fore09 Golf was born. Our main goal is fusing friendships on the fairways. We are not scratch golfers by any means. Heck, not even single digit handicaps. We just love golf! So, grab your sticks and some Fore09 gear, and hit the links. Don’t worry, there will be plenty of “FORE’s” being shouted.
My name is Wade Beagle and I’m from Nederland, TX where I live with my wonderful wife and 3 daughters. I began playing golf my first semester of college when I decided to take it as a PE elective. I quickly grew to love the game and continued to learn more working at Babe Zaharias Golf Course during college. At that point I knew golf was something that would be a life long passion for me because of the competition and camaraderie on the course.
Fore09 has given me the opportunity to continue building friendships on and off the course. Ultimately that is what we set out to accomplish. We are just scratching the surface with what we have to offer and I’m excited for the future of Fore09. I hope to see y’all on the course!

My name is Jeff Dengler. I live in Port Neches, TX with my beautiful wife and two children. The game of golf started as a hobby in college by playing a round here or there with buddies. It wasn’t until I was married and pursuing a career in sales, golf became an integral part of my professional and personal life. I have been blessed to enjoy many rounds with family and close friends. I look forward to sharing future experiences with my son and watch as his love grows for the game.
Being apart of this Fore09 journey has given us the chance to reconnect with old friends and to make new ones along the way. Help us grow the game within our communities by supporting one another in this game called life. Thank you for allowing us to be apart of your golf adventures.
